Pets on the Net
Pets on the Net is one of New Zealand's longest running lost and found pet service.
Started in 2002, by Kim and Gavin Buchanan, the inspiration for Pets on the Net was the loss of Sammy, their pet cat. Fortunately Sammy made it home after three days, but she was responsible for (and being a cat was probably blithely indifferent to) a service that over the years has helped tens of thousands of loved pets get home.
In 2017, in a move to continue helping even more pets, Kim and Gavin made the difficult decision to move Pets on the Net into the new LostPet.co.nz portal. By doing this they are helping create the single one-stop online portal for every lost and found pet in New Zealand.
However, this is not the end of the road for Kim helping pets. She has agreed to come onboard with the NZCAR team and provide a lost pet advice blog, as well as help manage our social media pages. Thanks Kim - we really need you!!!
A key feature of Pets on the Net is that it has always been free to list an advert. Lostpet.co.nz is continuing this important feature to ensure there is no reason for any lost or found pet not to be listed.
